For the second time the Builders Association of India, Nashik Center, is holding their General Council and Managing Committee Meeting at Nashik. The organisation was focussing this time on the Green Building potential in India. LEED certification of Green buildings requires that concrete is produced with Fly Ash. This poised DIRK to be available to highlight the GREEN benefits of POZZOCRETE and to sponsor the event.
Several studies have shown that green buildings have tremendous benefits, both tangible and intangible. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a green building rating system devised by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). It has become the most reputed and popular green building system around the globe. In India the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) supports the rating mechanism. More than 240 buildings have been registered in India under the LEED rating programme.
The use of recycled material and the use of material creating CO2 emission savings is at the heart of the LEED mechanism. As POZZOCRETE reduces the Indian emissions by approx. 1 ton of CO2 per ton of POZZOCRETE used as cement replacement it is a prominent material in Green Buildings.
