On 20th July 2010 Georg Dirk handed over the newly erected parking facility next to the POZZOCRETE plant to the Sarpanch of the village of Eklahare. The parking was built on request by the villagers to reduce the disturbance of more than 100 lorries and bulkers approaching daily the POZZOCRETE plant at Nashik. The village will operate a parking fee system and create an income from the catering in the restaurant.
DIRK India invested 60 lakh IRs into this facility as part of its corporate social responsibility. Just recently the Gram Panchayat of Eklare provided a letter to Dirk India stating that they are happy with the care taken by the company to avoid any pollution whilst handling the fly ash for processing. They also stated that the company is meeting their expectations in employing members of the village community rather than people from further afield. They confirmed that the Non Objection Certificate issued by them for the POZZOCRETE plant was still valid after nearly 10years of DIRK India's plant operations.
During the meeting with the village council which followed the hand over of the parking facility the villagers and Mr. Dirk discussed a project of erecting a reading room cum library for old and young people of the village.
