On18th February 2012 the staff of DIRK India, representatives of the DIRK India internal Employees Union, members of the DIRK clan, business friends, officials from financial institutions, concrete research establishments, representatives of the Eklahare village and professional personalities from all walks of life attended the function Dr. Ivana Dirk had prepared for her husband.
Mr. Dirk explained his motto for the past 35 years which reads: " and even if the snow and ice of our planet would be able to ignite in fire.....we would have the ash".
He said: in his youth most households in Germany only had an oven for heating during the winter period, which was burning coal. Daily the ash from such ovens would be removed into so called ash bins. Weekly the town would organize a collection of the ash from those bins. On NEW YEAR the ash bin collectors would ring the bell of the house and would sing a song about this work they enjoyed; a song of a number of strophe's with the refrain at the end of each strophe saying: "and even if the snow and ice of this planet would be able to ignite in fire....we would have the ash.
Mr. Dirk said: in my now nearly 12 year struggle to recycle as much Fly Ash as I could get my hands on I very often remembered the refrain of this song to keep me motivated.
