Nashik Run Charitable Trust / sponsored by Dirk India/ 12th January 2008

Nashik run was born out of a desire to serve the underprivileged in and around Nashik & to spread the message of healthy living among the Nashikites. The main idea is to help those who want to help themselves. It involves funding of various long lasting & productive projects undertaken by NGOs and charitable organizations in order to enable them to become fully independent. Since years DIRK India has great pleasure in sponsoring this important event.

Objectives

Generate a platform of like-minded people to come together for helping the needy.

Maintain and spread the feeling of charity and goodness towards fellow human beings.

Fulfill our obligation towards the society and the environment.

The Background

The first Nashik Run was held on 11th January 2003. Synergizing efforts and resources of the corporate giants in and around Nashik for a single common social cause. The funds collected are directed towards funding & promoting various important and deserving social projects.

  Participation

like in the previous years, a DIRK TEAM will participate in the 2008 event.

Accolades

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
