DIRK India Private Ltd and FINOLEX Infrastructure Ltd., Pune, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a 50/50 joint venture to recycle the fly ash from their new power-station project at Pawas Bay Ratnagiri. The power station will produce 1000 mts of Fly Ash per day which will be processed by the Joint Venture company. First chairman of the Joint Venture which will invest 20 cr. IRs into the project will be Mr. Georg Dirk.
The new Ratnagiri Power Station will use imported coal which will be received by the FINOLEX owned port next to the power station. FINOLEX POZZOCRETE Ratnagiri Ltd will use the port facility to export processed POZZOCRETE to the Middle East export markets not only for ready-mix-concrete producers, but as well to cement producers for PPC production. POZZOCRETE will be shipped in specialized vessels in loose bulk form ex Ratnagiri.
Depending on the demand developments in the export market silo facilities for bulk discharge will be added to the project in the receiving countries.
Says G. Dirk: we are expecting to see more washed coal used at Nashik Thermal Power Station in the years to come. This might well reduce the ash generation at Nashik by two thirds. The first Indian POZZOCRETE plant in Nashik will in future focus more on its excellent location for supply to the inland market and will be integrated into a number of new fly ash recycling projects.
