India is famous for its monsoon and the vast agricultural industry of India awaits the monsoon showers eagerly every year. And the construction industry? It has its own relationship with monsoon! Though, on one hand, the construction work slows down during monsoon; on the other hand, the concreting done during monsoon is of the highest quality. The "Monsoon Concrete" cracks less as the atmosphere is cooler and the temperature differential is minimal. Also the "Monsoon Concrete" is well cured – thanks to the Rain God!
Now, where does fly ash fit into the scheme of the things of monsoon? Fly ash has great affinity to moisture and hence results into the physical bonding of fly ash particles – the lumps! Fortunately, this affinity does not result into any chemical reaction and reactivity of fly ash remains intact even though it has turned lumpy!
Though the fly ash remains reactive even after becoming lumpy, it creates different kinds of problems – Handling Problems. When the humidity is high, it becomes difficult to move fly ash in bulkers, silos and screw conveyors. This was becoming a teething problem for the concrete producers. Dirk India decided to take the bull by the horns and the result is launching of the new product "Pozzocrete 60" for our concrete industry.
Pozzocrete 60 has a rare combination of high K factor and a lump resistant behavior. Pozzocrete 60 is produced under strict quality control and comes with the usual Dirk Guarantee of performance. It confirms to the IS 3812 – Part 1 and can be used in concrete in accordance to IS 456:2000.
