Mr. Kawale, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board visits Nashik Pozzocrete plant

On invitation by Mr. G. Dirk (Chairman of DIRK Group) the MSEB chairman visited the Pozzocrete plant next to the  Nashik Thermal Power Station. He was accompanied by the MSEB company secretary and the Chief Engineer of Nashik TPS.

At the moment phase II of the plant is under construction and the chairman inspected the progress and discussed issues of the interface between the power station and the DIRK India plant. DIRK India undertook to recycle all PFA from Nashik TPS if MSEB meets certain contractual obligations. The final output of the DIRK India Pozzocrete plant will be around 2000 metric tons of Pozzocrete per day. From January 2005 onwards the plant will use the new installation (2.25 croes  additional investment) and reach an output of 15.000 mt of Pozzocrete products per month.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
