Georg and Ivana Dirk thanked friends and staff at a farewell party on 27th August 2014

 Mr. Georg Dirk will shortly resign as MD of Dirk India but maintains his current position as Chairman of Dirk India and Board Director representing the interests of MILBANK Ltd., his UK holding company which still holds 20% of the shares in Dirk India Private Ltd.
Georg Dirk was the initial promoter of DIRK India. and introduced the use of processed fly ash as partial cement replacement in India resulting in a reduction of the concrete price by approx. 20%. In 2011 MILBANK sold the majority stake in the company to  AMBUJA CEMENTS Ltd and Mr. Dirk agreed to stay for another 3 years as Chairman and MD in DIRK India to a allow a smooth hand over. Dr. Ivana Dirk, currently Director Export  will resign as well after 8 years of successful promotion of POZZOCRETE outside India.

More than 100 friends and staff expressed their good wishes for their future live and thanked for their work which brought wealth to the employees and benefited the community and the environment at large.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
