More than 150 delegates attended the POZZOCRETE Fly Ash Seminar in Cairo, Egypt

GEOS, Dr. Eng. Nagui Riad and DIRK India organized a Fly Ash Seminar under the hospice of the Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Centre on 8th February 2010 at the Donia Meeting Room,Concorde el Salam Hotel, Heliopolis Cairo, Egypt. Center point of the Seminar are two lectures by Prof. Ravindra K. Dhir , O.B.E., Concrete Technology Unit, University of Dundee, UK. The conference focused on Processed Fly Ash for Sustainable High Performance Concrete Construction, on new research work in respect of reduction of heat of hydration using Fly Ash in mass pour situations and on the newly developed POZZOCRETE 100 (Ultrafine Fly Ash).   The large number of delegates clearly demonstrated that additional technical in depth information is welcomed by the Egyptian construction fraternity

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
