"Cleaner is Cheaper" says TERI (The Energy Resource Institute, Delhi)

TERI produced the new book "Cleaner is Cheaper" . The Honorable President of India released this book recently to the public. Among the India-wide selection of "clean" projects the book refers in one chapter to the DIRK India Fly Ash Recycling Project at Nashik

TERI again brings the best of corporate initiatives to the public domain in the form of the 4th edition of its book 'CLEANER is CHEAPER' providing case studies of corporate environmental excellence. 25 case studies are provided from a wide cross section of the Indian industry. In sector 11 the DIRK India Nashik Fly Ash Recycling Project is presented. The official appraisal of the book says: "The nerrative unfolded by the case study encompasses how DIRK India ensures that the resources they use for production are optimal used in the industrial process and given back to nature in a way that the quality, availability and accesability are ensured for life on earth for today and for tomorrow".

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
