AMBUJA Cements Limited increases its holding in DIRK India to 80%

After nearly 30 years of service to the DIRK Group, Mr. Reinhard Sniezyk sold his 20% stake in DIRK India and retires as Director from the Board. Mr. Georg Dirk, Chairman of DIRK India, thanked Mr. Reinhard Sniezyk for his important contribution to the success of DIRK India.

30 years of managing an international business created sound knowledge of the various recycling technologies operated by DIRK Group in Europe and this expertise was very much valuable for DIRK India. Says G. Dirk: Especially the loyalty he has shown to me and the Dirk family has been his greatest asset. In the name of the Dirk family, all staff and business friends I would like to wish him all the best for the future.  Enjoy your pension!The board of DIRK India Private Ltd had to be reorganized after the departure of Mr. Sniezyk. Chairman and Managing Director of the new board is Mr. Georg Dirk. Directors are: Mr. Ajay Kapur CEO AMBUJA Cements Ltd, Dr. Sujit Ghosh, CEO of HOLCIM Singaore, Mr. Sajai Pillai Finance Director Dirk India.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
