On 28th of March 2003 VALECHA Engineering Ltd. (Mumbai) and DIRK India Private Ltd. signed the contract for the supply of DIRK Pozzocrete for the final paving layer of one section of the 'Satara-Kolhapur Section' of National Highway no.4 (National highway from Mumbai to Banglore).

The total project scheme - of which this project is a section - is known in India as the “Golden Quadrangle” highway system and comprises of nearly 8000 km of a new dual carriage way. This is the first highway in India which will be build with quality assured Fly Ash (Pozzocrete 63). Days later DIRK India received another order for the second section of the same road from the joint venture of BGSCTPL (B.G.Shirke Construction Technologies Pvt. Limited),Pune and HCC, Hindustan Construction Company (Mumbai) . DIRK is now providing approx. 13,000 ts of Pozzocrete for nearly 60 km of the project.

The break through in convincing the owner of the job to use Pozzocrete was achieved after several presentations to the Maharastra State Road Development Corporation and support by DIRK in developing a mix-design which convinced the consultant for the VALECHA parcel, Sir William Owens.
