UKEIRI Concrete Congress, Delhi

March 09, 2011

With more than 400 participants this concrete congress assembled a wide spectrum of Indian and international specialists in this field discussing the way forward in designing the concrete for the 21st century.

In his presentation" Processed Fly Ash:Promoting the green construction Agenda in India" Mr. G. Dirk (chairman of Dirk Group) questioned the Ready-Mix Industry Concrete Manufacturers Association why they are not specifying ISI Standard Marked Fly Ash to be used as part of their Quality Control and Quality assurance systems and by this eleviating their members of time consuming and costly on site testing. Mr. Dirk pointed out that no RMC site would be able to carry out all tests required for evaluating Fly Ash for structural concrete.  The standard clearly stipulates that all tests have to be conducted on the sample and the failure of one test would render Fly Ash unsuitable to be used in structural concrete.

At their exhibition stall Dirk India welcomed many customers, consultants and scientists and demonstrated their fly ash processes in detailed on screen animations.
