More than 60 national and international consultants, construction companies and cement companies participated in the highly technical seminar Dirk India recently organized in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Two in depth lectures were given by Prof. Emeritus R.K. Dhir, OBE, of Dundee University, UK. Mr. G. Dirk (chairman of DIRK Group) highlighted the environmental advantages the use of Fly Ash has on a global scale.

One of the most important topics discussed at the seminar was the seasonal problem regarding heat of hydration on top of very high ambient temperatures in the region. POZZOCRETE at replacement rates of + 40% provides a better solution than other cement replacement products as good temperature reduction results can be achieved at lower replacement rates. High Volume Fly Ash replacement rates are no hindrance to early strength using fly ash in concrete if the mix-design is adjusted accordingly. On request the product application department of DIRK India is providing assistance in formulating such mix designs.
