Fine and Ultrafine Fly Ash for High Performance Concrete

this is the title of a one day seminar organized by DIRK India in cooperation with the Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Center on 19th April 2011 at Hotel Orchid, Mumbai (Mumbai Airport) . More than 100 concrete specialists from Mumbai, Pune and other parts of Maharashtra attended the seminar. Prof. Ravindra K. Dhir (Prof. emeritus of Dundee University, UK) delivered two excellent papers presenting the use of processed fly ash to allow for projects with improved durability and economics. The DIRK team presented their new ultrafine fly ash product POZZOCRETE 100. Mr. G. Dirk informed about the new processing installations at Nashik and Mandideep.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
