Dirk was represented in a delegation of ten UK companies organised by the British Government under the sponsorship of the Department of Trade and Industry to visit the three major centres of Bombay, Delhi and Madras in India last September. The delegation comprising companies within the framework of a "Clean Coal Mission" gave presentations to large audiences of local industrialist, representatives of the Federal and State governments and other parties who were interested to work with and generate business for the UK delegation. Dirks representative on the Mission was Dr Bob Middleton who is seen here together with managers from India's National Thermal Power Company(NTPC) beside a tree he had just planted on an ash disposal mound being built at Dadri Thermal Power Station close to Delhi. Following the visit to Dadri National Thermal Power Corporation invited Dirk India Private Ltd to discuss the possibility of establishing Pozzocrete production facilities at several of its major power plants nationwide, these discussions have now commenced and specific proposals have been made to the Chairman of NTPC. The Mission also stimulated interest from other power generators in both the east and west of India and provided a platform from which to develop our India business following the good start being made in Nashik in Maharashtra State.
