Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Centre with expanded facilities and new laboratories

November 06, 2007

To cater for the constantly increasing numbers of participants for the training courses held at the Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Center DIRK India provided a larger lecture room for up to 50 participants, new research laboratories and space for catering at seminar events. On 30th November the new facilities will be used for a combined international seminar and a follow up training course. It is expected that the event will be over subscribed and it is advised to book as early as possible.

The primary objective of the Information Center is to create further awareness towards the innovative use of Fly Ash in construction. The Center conducts several activities for educating the industry in various aspects of fly ash, viz. Environmental Protection, Structural Durability and Life Costs, Fly Ash Processing and Concrete Mix Design.  The Center intends to achieve these objectives by conducting 2–days residential courses at this complex.

Along with this new auditorium, DIRK has also built a new research center which will now house a full scale physical laboratory, a chemical laboratory and a concrete testing laboratory. This research center will be fully dedicated to cross newer frontiers on the fly ash research.
