There are no Fly Ash bulk handling facilities in Indian ports available. Specialized ships for the bulk loading of Fly Ash are also not operating in the region. This is why Indian Fly Ash is transported in 1-2 ts big bags. The discharge of such bags into batching plants is very often problematic, due to lumps created by compaction during transport. DIRK has developed for its distributors a simple but effective de-bagging facility to remove lumps, and load more or less dust-free bulk tankers. A demonstration unit is erected at DIRK's Nashik plant.
The de-bagging plant has a capacity of minimum 40 ts per hour and can be increased to 60 ts per hour by operating a second hoist. The discharge operation for big bags is nearly dust-free as it contains a bag-filter unit. Any lumps in the product are macerated by an in-build lump breaker. Two operators are required to man the system and one forklift or Hydra is required to carry the big bags to the lift-up point of the de-bagging station.
POZZOCRETE big bags have a bottom spout, so bags can be emptied and reused. There is also a facility to cut the big bags for speedy unloading. We have produced a technical data sheet which can be requested by sending an e-mail to georg.dirk@dirkgroup.com
DIRK has agreed with all its distributors to operate one of these de-bagging plants in their respective territory. Customers who would like to have such installation can obtain this from DIRK India.
