DIRK India sponsors the Nashik Run on 8th January 2012

The "Nashik Run" was initiated by the select set of corporate houses to help the needy and underprivileged and to promote the awareness of health and fitness in and around the city of Nashik. There are various social service organizations engaged in a myriad of activities pertaining to the under privileged in and around Nashik. Dirk India is supporting this event since 2005 as part of its CSR activities.

The event 'Nashik Run' is held every year in the month of January by the Nashik Run Charitable Trust (NRCT),

This year again around 18.000 Runner T-shirts were sold  and  nearly as much runners attended the 5 kms run with an aim to help the deprived sections of the society.The amount collected by T-shirt sales and donations from corporates are directed towards funding and promoting various important and deserving social projects. The uniqueness of the Nashik Run organisation is that not a single paisa is used on administrative cost.'' A total of Rs 1.80 crore have been spent on health, medical, environment projects undertaken in the last three years.

'Nashik Run' was born in 2002 with a vision and desire to serve the underprivileged in and around Nashik and also to spread the message of the healthy living among the Nashikites.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
