How to increase Fly Ash consumption ? ...an overlooked opportunity

Invited by the British High Commission Georg Dirk presented the answer to this question at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, a state swamped with fly ash from a large number of captive and public power generation projects. The Nashik Fly Ash recycling project promoted by Mr. Dirk was based on an intensive study the British Deputy High Commission at Mumbai, Maharashtra, had conducted on his request. Initial know how transfer originated from Dirk's ventures in UK.

With a target to double trade with India to 23 billion pounds by 2015, Britain today said there is tremendous potential for expanding business in Odisha in areas like infrastructure, mining and advanced engineering.

"The two countries are on course to meet the target set in 2010 by the Indian and UK Prime Ministers of doubling trade by 2015 to 23 billion pound," said British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India, Scott Furssedonn-Wood while addressing a seminar on "UK and Odisha in Partnership"

The  British High Commissioner  to India, Sir James Baven , was attending this mayor business event.  Mr. Dirk thanked him for the ongoing support Britain has been providing to Dirk India since 1999.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
