May 06, 2012

On 30th April 2012 Mr. Onne van der Weijde, Managing Director of Ambuja Cements Limited started the new blending plant for Ambuja HiRise Cement within the DIRK Pozzocrete Plant at Nashik. Mr. Ajay Kapur CEO of Ambuja Cements Ltd flagged off the first lorry loaded with samples for the local construction fraternity. Mr. Georg Dirk (Chairman of DIRK India) handed a token of recognition for the excellent work to Mr. P.J. Jawale (Director Operations) and his co-workers.

Within 8 months after Ambuja acquired a 60% stake in DIRK India Private Ltd the new plant was designed and erected within DIRK's fly ash processing plant at Nashik. The new High Performance Pozzolan Cement will secure an additional secure application for POZZOCRETE.

The production of High Performance Concrete is slowly reaching 20% of the total concrete market. So far a PPC meeting all criteria for was not available. This gap is now closed with AMBUJA HiRise Cement.

The new cement type is exclusively marketed by the technical sales team of DIRK India.
