Important exhibitions in May 2006

Three important exhibitions related to high volume use of Fly Ash will be held in May 2006: 10-12 May: Seminar on Roller Compacted Concrete Dams. India, Pune, Hotel Aurora Towers. 14-17 May: AshTech 2006, Int. Coal Ash Technology Conference, England Birmingham, Hypodrome 16-18 May: Gulf Bid 2006, Bahrain, <Manama> International Exhibition Centre DIRK will be represented at all events either direct or via their local distributor.

The Seminar on Roller Compacted Concrete Dams in Pune is of special interest as will report in depth about the Ghatghar Dam Project to which more than 100,000 ts of POZZOCRETE 40 were supplied. This project had set bench marks for erection speed and mass volume handling of concrete. DIRK India built a special ash handling station at their Nashik plant to cater for a daily demand of up to 800 ts of POZZOCRETE 40. Dirk India will be making a presentation and has an exhibition stall.

AshTech 2006 is the world leading conference on coal ash technology. Dirk India is presenting the Nashik plant project and Mr. G. Dirk will be chairing the Tuesday R&D session.

DIRK's Bahrain and Saudi Arabia distributor will be present on Gulf Bid 2006 in Bahrain, a major event in the Gulf construction scene.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), India, became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate together with the former American Vice President Al Gore for laying foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract climate changes. This panel in collaboration with TERI (Tata Energy and Resources Institute) issued in 2006 a book containing 25 best projects for corporate environmental responsibility in India - the DIRK Pozzocrete plant at Nashik was selected as one of those twenty five project.
