A case for AMBUJA HiRise Pozzolan Portland Cement....... project example

January 06, 2014

Project: Barrage project of the Irrigation Department of the Gov. of Maharashtra over river Chandrabhaga at Daryapur in Amravati District The barrage was constructed with M30 grade of concrete where normal OPC was used. On top of the barrage piers a bridge with concrete girders is to be constructed. For the construction of the girders and the bridge deck slab M50 concrete was designed. As this project is in a remote location it became highly impossible to produce a triple-blend High Performance Concrete, which is considered to be the normal requirement. Consequently Ambuja HiRise High Performance Pozzolana Cement , a one component solution was selected.

There are several Portland Cement types available to achieve the desired strength but none of the available cemenst would provide the desired workability and stability of mix without addition of any other mineral admixture such as fly ash GGBS etc. Since the reinforcement and the post tension cables were closely spaced high workability (flowability) was required together with high early strength.

All the requirements for this High Performance Concrete were achieved with Ambuja HiRise Cement.
