On 26th September 2005 the newly erected Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Center will be inaugurated. The privately funded Center underlines the commitment of the DIRK GROUP to promote environmental beneficial and economically viable recycling solutions for major industrial by-products and wastes. Public perception of environmental solutions are an impotant precondition to successful recycling solutions.
Dirk India Private Ltd. opens its Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Center within the POZZOCRETE plant at Eklahre, next to MSEB's Nashik Thermal Power Station. The center's objective is to inform about the use of Fly Ash as partial cement replacement and the benefits of this to the construction and power industry as well as to the environment.
Nashik Thermal power Station generates approx. 2500 ts of dry fly ash per day which is usually transformed into a slurry and lagooned. Later this year the DIRK India Pozzocrete plant will utilize most of this ash as partial cement replacement. which improves the quality of concrete.
Currently DIRK India exports more than 50% of its POZZOCRETE production to the booming construction industries in the Middle East (Gulf) and South -East Asia. The rest of the production is consumed by the Indian construction industry and for major infrastructure projects.
The DIRK India plant is considered to be a template for similar installations at other power stations all over India.
