On 29th June 2012, Mr. Paul Hugentobler, Chairman of the HOLCIM LIP Forum opened the event at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. Governmental representatives and CEO's from all over Asia attended the Forum. DIRK India, now part of the HOLCIM family, presented their POZZOCRETE products and AMBUJA HiRise, the new blended cement designed for this application segment. Especially POZZOCRETE (processed Fly Ash) has been used in LIP projects since its introduction in to India in 2001. AMBUJA HiRise Cement, produced at DIRK's Nashik plant, is the new cement type composed to meet all requirements for High Performance Concrete and special Fly Ash /OPC blends to meet specific project requirements.
Whilst announcing this initiative, Paul Hugentobler, Member of the Executive Board of HOLCIM, said:
"Given that China and Indonesia, two of the world’s four largest populations, have recently made the key transition from rural to predominantly urban distribution, Building Asia Together is the perfect forum for assessing the challenges this presents.
India’s drive for infrastructure investment is of equal weight for maintaining economic momentum and development needs. Indeed, tackling the challenges posed for the future of the built environment is a gargantuan task. It calls for new thinking and new structures, partnerships and cross discipline collaboration. I look forward to discussing these opportunities not only at our forthcoming conference but during the intervening months – and I hope this private website will stimulate interest and debate over the weeks ahead".
